Antitrust
An essential component of Cameron LLP’s practice involves advising U.S. and foreign companies on a full range of matters arising under the U.S. antitrust laws, including formal compliance programs. These include:
- Pricing
- Distribution
- Mergers and joint ventures, including the U.S. government’s mandatory pre-merger review process under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act
- Competition policy in regulated industries, (e.g. telecoms)
- Trade associations
In addition the firm has in recent years represented foreign companies in U.S. criminal grand jury investigations involving alleged international cartel activity and has assisted others in obtaining amnesty under the Corporate Leniency Guidelines of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. The firm has also advised U.S. and foreign companies on matters arising under the competition laws of the European Union, Canada and Brazil.
One of the firm’s partners, Sandy Sierck, served as a senior official in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, and currently teaches a course on international white collar crime (including antitrust issues) at Georgetown University Law Center.
